What to do when a timed event starts. Every tip below is the same text as on that event's page, which also has the numbers and sources.

## [Ring of Hay Bales](/events/bale-ring)

- The ring closes on a fixed point, so walking out through a gap takes it out of play. On Normal, neighbouring bales start about 97 units apart, centre to centre (about 49 on Nightmare). The gaps shrink as the ring closes, so leaving early is easiest.
- A 400-HP bale is worth only 3 XP, so fighting through the ring usually isn't worth it unless your weapons are already hitting the bales.
- Tibo's [dash](/controls) ignores normal damage, which can carry him through a gap that has become too tight.

## [Fry Fly Swarm](/events/fly-swarm)

- The flies don't steer, so moving sideways to their path gets Tibo out of the band. At base speed, Tibo covers the 120 units to the edge of the band in about 2 seconds.
- With 10 base HP, the flies die quickly to area weapons. Standing your ground also works if your build already clears crowds.

## [Golden Scarab](/events/golden-scarab)

- Chase it right away. It always starts close, and it only slows down once it is more than 70 units ahead, so Tibo catches up quickly.
- Weapons that hit often roll the 50% coin chance more times before the kill, so they may be worth keeping on it.
- Every Golden Scarab minute also brings a boss (the [Colorado Queen](/bosses/beetle-queen) at 3:00), and 3:00, 7:00 and 17:00 add an elite. Weigh the item against the risk of chasing the scarab with those around.

## [Harvest Moon](/events/harvest-moon)

- The window is a good moment to collect coins you left lying around. A Magnet pickup, a [Tater Magnet](/points-of-interest#tater-magnet) or a Tidy [Grok Bot](/grok-bots) pulls them in quickly.
- If you can kill The Fryer King at 8:00 within the 30 seconds, its 25-gold coin counts double.

## [Loose Change](/events/loose-change)

- Walking in starts the timer, so you choose when it happens. Entering with a crowd of pests to kill gets more out of the 20 seconds.
- Fighting inside the laundromat during the rush stacks its ×1.4 coin value with the ×2.

## [Lost Saucer](/events/lost-saucer)

- The event starts as soon as Tibo crosses the edge, so the clock is running from the moment you enter. Chase right away: the saucer starts only 40 units off and is slower than Tibo.
- Because the item is guaranteed on the kill, a crop circle is worth a detour when you see one, if your damage can take 260 × the current HP multiplier off a fleeing target within 20 seconds.

## [Lunch Rush](/events/lunch-rush)

- Stepping sideways to the flight path clears the band. Tibo needs a little over 2 seconds at base speed to cover the 140 units to its edge.
- The drive-thru has burning pools on the ground (see [Fry Palace Drive-Thru](/biomes/fry-palace)), so watch where you sidestep.

## [Strike](/events/strike)

- Because the dash direction is fixed when the windup starts, a step sideways during the 0.5-second pause makes the ball miss. A [dash](/controls) also works, since Tibo ignores normal damage while dashing.
- With 28 base HP and only 2 to 6 balls, it is probably quicker to kill them than to dodge for the full 16 seconds.
- The lanes have patches of slowing ground (see [Gutterball Lanes](/biomes/gutterball-lanes)). Sidestepping a charge from inside one is harder, so it may be worth fighting on clear floor.
- Gutterball Lanes also spawns bowling balls as ordinary pests, so more of them may roll in after the event ends.
