**Butter Pat** is a passive upgrade in tibo.dog. In-game description: “+10% damage per level.”

## Overview

Butter Pat is the plain damage passive. Each level adds 0.1 to the damage stat (`might`), so every weapon deals ×1.1 damage at level 1 and ×1.5 at level 5. There is no cap or diminishing returns (see [Stats](/stats)).

It is the catalyst for [Sack of Russets](/weapons/sack-of-russets) (from [Spud Lob](/weapons/spud-lob)) and [Tailgate Party](/weapons/tailgate-party) (from [Tailgate Fries](/weapons/tailgate-fries)).

## How it works

All damage bonuses are added into one total before conversion: the damage multiplier is `max(0.1, 1 + total)`. So Butter Pat at level 5 (+0.5) plus [Golden Gravy](/items/golden-gravy) (+0.15) gives ×1.65, not 1.5 × 1.15. Other sources include [Cursed Crown](/items/cursed-crown), [Philosopher's Potato](/items/philosophers-potato), [Salt Crystal](/items/salt-crystal) the aura of [Pip](/dogs/terrier) and [Spud Shrine](/points-of-interest#spud-shrine) blessings.

The damage multiplier also applies to item projectiles, such as the fries from [Porcupine Spud](/items/porcupine-spud), and to the blast from Alex (see [Visitors](/visitors#alex)).

## Tips

- Because damage bonuses add up, each level of Butter Pat is a slightly smaller relative gain than the one before: level 1 is +10% over no bonus, while level 5 is about +7% over level 4.
- Elite damage ([Bacon Bits](/passives/bacon-bits)), crit chance ([Hot Sauce](/passives/hot-sauce)) and crit damage ([Sour Cream](/passives/sour-cream)) multiply with this stat instead of adding to it.
