Fry Fly

#Overview

The Fry Fly is a tier-2 pest of the fried-food biomes. It is the only tier-2 pest of Fry-Oil Desert and shares the slot with the Dumpster Raccoon at the Fry Palace Drive-Thru. Tier-2 pests trickle in from the first minute, peak around 5:00 and stop spawning at 12:00 on Normal (13:00 on Easy). Between 1:00 and 4:59 the minute's elite can be a Fry Fly in those biomes.

It flies straight at Tibo and hurts only on contact, for 5 base damage. Its speed of 54 makes it the fastest pest that chases Tibo; only the swarm pests that cross the screen in a straight line are quicker. It pays for that with 14 base HP, the lowest at tier 2, and no mass, so knockback moves it the full distance. A kill gives 2 XP and a 5% chance of a coin.

It is a different pest from the Fry Fly Swarm, which the event of the same name sends across the field in a band instead of chasing.

#Tips

• At 54 against Tibo's base 62, Fry Flies are hard to shake off, and in the desert they tend to reach Tibo ahead of the rest of a wave.
• Their low HP makes them a good fit for fast-firing or homing weapons. Knockback is fully effective but only buys a moment, given their speed.
